Wings of Desire

In the film “Wings of Desire” (1987), we follow two angels, Damiel and Cassiel, as they silently traverse the streets of Berlin. They observe the city’s inhabitants, offering unseen comfort to those in despair. However, they refrain from direct interaction. Intrigued by the human condition, Damiel becomes enamored with Marion, a solitary trapeze artist, and yearns to join the mortal realm. Encouraged by advice from the actor Peter Falk, Damiel discovers that it might be possible to relinquish his celestial existence and transform into a human.
