In “Taste of Cherry” (1997), Mr. Badii, a man from Tehran, is determined to end his life and requires assistance in being buried afterward. As he navigates the city’s streets, Badii encounters various individuals, including a devout Muslim student, hoping to convince someone to take on the grim responsibility. While many refuse his offer, he eventually meets a person willing to help, driven by financial need, though this new acquaintance attempts to dissuade Badii from taking his life.
