Aladdin
Overview
Aladdin is an animated TV series created by Walt Disney Television that aired between 1994 and 1995. It continued the story from the direct-to-video sequel, The Return of Jafar, with Aladdin now residing in the palace and engaged to the spirited Princess Jasmine. Throughout the series, Aladdin and Jasmine tackle adventures involving sorcerers, monsters, and thieves, alongside their companions—Abu the monkey, the lively Magic Carpet, and the talkative, transforming Genie. Also aiding them is Iago, the sassy parrot who once served as Jafar’s pet but is now more of an antihero. The formidable Jafar makes a brief return in one episode, which also merges with Hercules: The Animated Series.
Most of the film’s original cast reprised their roles for the series, with Dan Castellaneta stepping in for Robin Williams as the Genie. Unlike The Little Mermaid’s spinoff, this series didn’t include any musical performances. Originally, the series aired on both The Disney Afternoon block and CBS Saturday mornings, and later, Disney Channel showed re-runs in the late ’90s before transitioning to a pre-teen schedule. The series was also broadcast on Toon Disney for a while but is no longer available there. Love “Aladdin (1994)”? Now, you can watch Aladdin (1994) online for free right here.
