In her twenties, Miep Gies immediately agreed to help when her employer, Otto Frank, requested her assistance in concealing his family from the Nazis during World War II. Alongside her husband Jan and other helpers, Miep vigilantly cared for the eight individuals hidden in the Secret Annex for two years.
