Following the collapse of Tobruk in June 1942, Sergeant Joe Gunn of the U.S. Army maneuvers his tank through the Sahara desert, attempting to steer clear of Rommel’s advancing forces and return to Allied lines. On his journey, he gathers a small group of Allied soldiers, though they soon face a shortage of water. Fortune leads them to an ancient well, yet it becomes apparent that this well is also the target of a full German battalion.
