Suddenly, 16-year-old Martha disappears without a trace. Her estranged father, Lothar, who has been out of touch with her and his ex-wife for years, reluctantly embarks on a journey to find her. He discovers that other teenagers are mysteriously vanishing from the city as well. Lothar follows their clues, crossing the country in pursuit. Along the way, he sporadically meets a few young individuals, yet the trail often goes cold. As he enters the next city, he encounters militia groups and increased police presence. Strict regulations now prohibit children from being on the streets without adult supervision. The world is different now.
