Radioactive Veteran

“Radioactive Veteran” is a compelling short documentary that follows Marine Corps veteran Donald Guy and his widow, Mary. In the early 1950s, Donald was sent by the military to the Nevada Test Site to observe nuclear tests. Along with countless fellow Marines and soldiers, he was reassured of his safety as he watched the colossal mushroom clouds and marched through the desert towards the atomic explosion. Unfortunately, within just a few years, Donald suffered serious medical complications due to radiation exposure, ultimately leading to his disability. Throughout his life, he battled the Veterans Affairs department for disability benefits but sadly passed away in 2009 without having received them. Subsequently, his widow Mary picked up the baton, tirelessly striving for justice on his behalf, as captured in “Radioactive Veteran.” Check it out now.
