Bridge of Spies

In the tense atmosphere of the Cold War, the Soviet Union apprehends American pilot Francis Gary Powers following the downing of his U-2 spy aircraft. Facing a 10-year imprisonment, Powers’ sole chance for liberation lies with New York attorney James Donovan, who is enlisted by the CIA to broker his release. Donovan travels to Berlin, aiming to secure the young pilot’s freedom via a prisoner swap. If successful, this exchange would allow the Soviets to regain Rudolf Abel, the convicted spy once defended by Donovan in the courtroom.
