During his first year at college, Brandon is determined to concentrate on his academics, but he can’t shake his true passion: dance. His nerdy roommate, Nate, suggests forming a dance crew; however, their initial search for freestyle dancers is unsuccessful. As a result, they widen their search throughout the city, eventually recruiting a break-dancer, a performance artist, a Bhangra dancer, an animator, a ballerina, and even a ballroom dance mom to form their new crew. When a national dance battle, featuring Brandon’s former crew Levelz, comes up, it offers Brandon an invaluable chance to demonstrate to himself and his family that he and his group possess the talent to succeed.
