In December 2016, an influential moment in the music arena came to a close as the Finnish punk rock group Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät (PKN) disbanded. “Punk Voyage” is a full-length documentary capturing the band’s final years, showcasing their triumphs and struggles. Rising to fame in Finland, this extraordinary foursome went on to win fans worldwide, performing almost 300 shows across 16 different countries. In 2015, they represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest, playing for an audience of over 100 million TV viewers. However, the whirlwind of travel and success exerted considerable pressure on the band members: Kari dealt with the temptations and demands of fame; Sami ventured into political and religious realms; Toni and the band’s roadie Niila faced friction over a shared romantic interest; and Pertti, weary of it all, chose to step down.
