Since her father was killed, Taylor has been responsible for caring for her agoraphobic mother, Ann Marie, while managing the family farm. Eager to begin her own journey, she plans to inform her mother of her intent to leave with her boyfriend, Blake, as the new school year begins. However, her plans are derailed when a threatening storm approaches, risking devastation to the farm. As Taylor gets ready for the impending storm, a stranger comes to their door, claiming to need a place to stay because he’s out of gas. Although hesitant to trust him, Taylor suspects he might have a link to her father’s murder.
