In a quiet town, teenagers are mysteriously dying under circumstances that suggest a wave of madness is at play. Nancy Thompson, the daughter of a police officer, uncovers the source of this horror: Fred Krueger, a child molester who was incinerated by vengeful parents long ago. Now, Krueger seeks retribution by haunting and murdering the children of his executioners in their dreams.
