Empire of Lust

Set in the year 1398, “Empire of Lust” follows the story of Kim Min-Jae, the top military leader of the Joseon Dynasty, who finds himself enamored for the first time and is willing to take significant risks for the woman he loves. Meanwhile, Yi Bang-Won, the King’s son, dreams of one day ascending to the throne despite not being named crown prince, a position he helped establish but was denied to him. Jin, portrayed by Kang Ha-Neul, is Kim Min-Jae’s son and the King’s son-in-law; he is confined by his status and opts to pursue a life focused on pleasure rather than political affairs.
