Marty, a 19-year-old pioneer woman, embarks on a journey west with her new husband, Clem, to begin anew. Tragedy strikes when Clem dies suddenly, leaving Marty alone and two months pregnant. In her desperate situation, Clark Davis, who has also lost his spouse, proposes a marriage of convenience.
