On October 15, 2011, a massive crowd congregated at the Vancouver Art Gallery to rally in support of the worldwide Occupy movement. As the day wore on, hundreds decided to stay by setting up tents, transforming the gallery’s plaza into a bustling encampment complete with essential facilities like a first-aid station, media tent, kitchen, and even a library. This unexpected takeover of public space in downtown Vancouver garnered significant media attention and remained a focal point for 39 days. “The Occupation” delves into the stories of those residing at the Occupy Vancouver camp.
