On their way to a party they’re none too thrilled about attending, the Famous Five are somewhat relieved when Aunt Fanny’s car breaks down, leaving them stuck in a quaint little town. To kill time, they head over to the local natural history museum, which is showcasing some freshly discovered dinosaur fossils. Here, they cross paths with Marty, who shares an intriguing story about his late father finding a complete dinosaur skeleton and drafting a map to its location—a map that has, unfortunately, been stolen. Intrigued by the mystery, George, Julian, Dick, Anne, and Timmy embark on a guided trek through the Valley of Dinosaurs. What’s supposed to be an educational adventure quickly morphs into a thrilling race to locate the dinosaur, as they begin to suspect that the thief is among them.
