Kate Graham thought she was living the dream with a flawless marriage until her husband, Duke Fairbanks, began to grow distant, culminating in his demand for a divorce after being unfaithful with her friend, Diana Coles. Kate, willingly, forgoes a prenuptial payout nearly reaching a million dollars, in exchange for temporary ownership of the house while Duke relocates to their yacht, where his body is discovered soon after. A mysterious man claiming responsibility for Duke’s death approaches Kate, insisting she owes him 10% of the inheritance. Her gay friend faces arrest without bail, prompting Kate to seek help from her lawyer for his defense. The killer, upping the stakes, insists on a dinner meeting, evades Seattle PD’s detective Paul Tannon, and demonstrates his knowledge of Kate’s personal tastes, revealing how he framed Jim and doubling his fee to 20% now that Kate must settle debts for two lives. As it turns out, the elusive killer is in fact a tax official named Mathis.
