Set against the backdrop of the barren hills of an Indonesian island, Marlina, a widowed young woman, finds herself the victim of a brutal assault, robbery, and violation as a gang targets her for her livestock. In an act of self-defense, she manages to kill several members of the group. Driven by the quest for justice and self-empowerment, she embarks on a journey towards redemption.
