Overview
In the 1960s Australian setting, ex-convict Wally Mellish aspires to a peaceful life with his girlfriend Beryl. However, their tranquility is shattered when two policemen arrive, and a simple misunderstanding escalates rapidly, leading to Wally, Beryl, and her child being confined in their home. This incident spirals into chaos when the authorities mistakenly believe Wally is holding them hostage.
