In 2009, Kyle received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy and subsequently published his bestselling autobiography, “American Sniper,” in 2012. This captivating memoir was later adapted into a film directed by Clint Eastwood, which reached audiences in 2014. Tragically, on February 2, 2013, Kyle was fatally shot at a shooting range near Chalk Mountain, Texas, alongside his friend Chad Littlefield, who was 35 years old.
