“Children Underground” explores the lives of five young individuals, aged between eight and sixteen, who call a subway station in Bucharest, Romania, their home. These street kids are a constant presence for the daily commuters who hurry past them, often oblivious to the children’s plight as they struggle with starvation, commit petty thefts, and constantly seek out paint cans to inhale for a brief escape from their harsh reality.
