This anthology of five short films skillfully explores how desire can both uplift and ruin those it touches. In the segment “The Summer House,” the alluring teen Jane (played by Talulah Riley) is pursued by her former flame, Richard (portrayed by Robert Pattinson), amidst the tumultuous backdrop of the summer of 1969. Other captivating narratives include the story of a waitress (Amy Adams) who is determined to save her little girl and a tech enthusiast (James Franco) who relies on technology to shield himself from feelings.
