The Song of Cotton

A young woman named Mianhua, also known as “Cotton,” takes on a job she’s never done before: becoming the full-time caregiver for an elderly former boxer suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The old man’s son, who lives overseas with his current wife, is largely absent from his father’s life, leaving the responsibility to his daughter from a previous marriage. She reluctantly hires Mianhua, harboring deep distrust for caretakers whom she believes are only capable of deceit and exploitation. Despite this rocky start, Mianhua and the old man develop a bond, with him even mistaking her for his ex-wife, to whom he owes an emotional debt.
