Apprentice

Aiman, a 28-year-old correctional officer of Malay descent, is newly stationed at the leading prison in the area. He shares a modest home with his elder sister, Suhaila. Inside the prison, Aiman grows curious about a 65-year-old Sergeant named Rahim. Rahim, a charismatic figure, is soon unveiled as the veteran chief executioner. Impressed by Aiman’s dedication and integrity, Rahim takes an interest in him. When Rahim’s assistant unexpectedly resigns, he offers Aiman the chance to become his apprentice. However, when Aiman informs Suhaila of the offer, she is upset, revealing that Rahim was responsible for their father’s execution—a heartbreaking truth Aiman has been aware of all along. This poses a significant moral dilemma for Aiman as he struggles with his conscience and the shadows of his past in his potential future role.
