Tharlo

Tharlo, an orphan who has grown up to become a sheep herder in his village, is widely known as “Ponytail” due to his distinctive hairstyle, as no one recollects his real name. Possessing an impressive memory, Tharlo recalls many things, yet his own name escapes him. In his forties, still inexperienced in romance, he ventures into town to photograph for his identity card, where a chance meeting with a girl at the barber’s shop alters his life’s trajectory. In pursuit of self-discovery, he sells his livestock, including those cared for on behalf of fellow villagers, to be with the girl, only to experience betrayal. Though he seeks a sense of self, Tharlo ironically loses his identity, realizing this as his ponytail is cut and he faces a bare reflection.
